Bananafish

Well after more than 2 years of patience I'm about to finish off the entire Bananafish series. Volume by volume they been translated and printed in about 2 months apart. The final issue, Vol. 19 comes out in april.

If ya'll haven't checked out the series, I highly recommend it. Its technically shojo but its original popularity was grounded in the fact that it really genre hopped. The sweet relationship between the two main protagonists Ash and Eiji has always been more speculative than established but they definitely share a tender and deep love bond. The action is excellent and the story compelling. The artwork gets better as the series progresses and has a clean style that I have grown to appreciate.

Viz Media has published them all and borders usually has 'em on the shelf or orderable.

Hey People:

I've been very discouraged in my searches for good Yaoi because it seems there is a creepy focus on the not quite clearly "man" male image. Where do I find the manly stuff? I get a bit nervous regarding some of the images and frequently cut my research short.

I like the really refined style and excellent perspective work. Sparkly, glowy, flowing, tattoos, and long hair include some of the elements I tend to favor. I'm not terribly fond of the "common" style of anime where the eyes are too big and the style is simplistic. I'm more interested in the stylized, nearly photographic stuff. Dark content is good because the images are gorgeous (and the men are usually more manly) but if I can find the images and intensity with vanilla content I'd be down for that even more.

I'm also interested in good stories and feature length content rich movies. Recommendations are sincerely appreciated.

Being broke doesn't help my searches. Suggestions that aren't cost intensive or resources that can be shared are also encouraged (preferably not pirated - if we don't pay they won't make more).

I'm not into the furry world but I'm not averse to it either (particularly not averse if my partner is hotter than hell - a little weirdness always turns me on for some reason).

PS: If anyone can do some anime style illustration I'd like to discuss what your fees for commission are or more importantly if someone would be willing to work for credit in my album cover and credit on my web site we really need to talk. I want some things done featuring me but there are a few complicated tattoos that have to be included on the anime me that I have in real life that may be a challenge (plus you gotta make me thinner).

I'm new to this tribe and I confess, I love yaoi and shounen ai!! =)
I like the Fake, Gravitation, and Eerie Queerie mangas. I'm now starting vol.1 of Descendants of Darkness. I also like collecting yaoi from all over the internet...
I'm glad I was able to find a Shounen ai and Yaoi tribe. :)

Good Manga titles?

I'm sort of new to the whole manga scene. I fell in love with an old video tape of Kizuna I had found and started trying to track down the mangas and well, i was hooked. The only titles I have right now are the Kizuna (still have to get 3&4), Selfish Love, and Level C. I haven't really got a clue about what other titles out there are "good". Any suggestions would be great. I'm afraid I do need them in translated form. So what are you guy's favourites?

Hmm, never could think of a good way to introduce myself. Thanks for the acception and the likes.

I'm still sortof new and toe dipping into the whole Yaoi scene. Most my exposure was through roleplay for a while until I was invited and paid for enternace to Yaoicon 2002. Still havnt decided what couples I like best as I havnt actually been exposed to all that much in the way of anime at the moment, but I've gotten my hand into writing some sortof strange FF8 fanfiction.

Umm.. Im really bad at summerization of myself ^^; er.. Viva Y-con 2004!

introduction

hi all!

I thought I'd introduce myself (especially since I already posted something to the Listings). I've been learning to draw comics - yaoi comics, with lots of Lemon - for the past four or five years. I've had a couple of comics published in anthologies, and I've attended all three Yaoi-Cons. I created some yaoi-themed t-shirts to sell at the conventions, and now they're being sold in Japan, too.

I've got a decent collection of yaoi manga. (I'm more interested in manga than anime, but both are fun). I dont read Japanese, so I just look at the pretty pictures. I buy and then sell most of my manga, so the collection isn't that big (i've limited myself to one shelf, but i've had about three hundred books, anthologies and magazines).

I guess that's all. I'm looking forward to learning and sharing more with you all.
